Project Summary

The FEAST project will extend and develop the food co-op's work with volunteers and the training aspects of our service, in order to help local people to improve their employment prospects.

There will be an ongoing programme of catering training, together with food hygiene, to local people, with the explicit aim of helping them to gain employment in catering or set up a food related community business.  The catering course will include training in food preparation and handling, cookery, nutrition, customer service, etc. As part of the catering course, we will run a small local catering enterprise, with an emphasis on healthy eating. We will liaise with Business West, to offer appropriate assistance and training to participants who are interested in developing their own community business.
