Project Summary
The Community Music Project will convert a sound proofed band practice room in the basement of the Percy Community Centre into a fully equipped music studio that is capable of being used as an educational resource to teach young people aged between 16 and 20 the wide range of skills involved in music creation, recording, production and distribution. This project will provide a valuable new resource for the community that will raise the profile of youth activities and provide an access point to a wide range of support and development work that will be delivered by and through the Percy Community Centre.
The course will be delivered in conjunction with a studio hire scheme that will allow the participants to gain genuine work experience whilst providing a revenue stream that will allow the project to move towards self funding when its grants have been expended.
