Project summary
The EnSpire project (Environmental Inspiration) has developed out of the volunteering programme which has been running at Bath City Farm for several years. With the employment of a Volunteer Co-ordinator in May 2002, the programme was formalised, offering opportunities to do practical conservation work every Monday, and one Sunday a month. The pilot has already had a huge impact on the work of Bath City Farm, encouraging individuals from all walks of life to become involved in the care and maintenance of their local environment.
The EnSpire programme will enable further volunteer days to be offered, and consist of a practical programme of conservation projects through rolling-skills workshops which are accessible to all. It will enable individuals and groups to experience social benefits whilst enhancing their local environment.
The establishment of a programme of rolling skills workshops in practical conservation at Bath City Farm, based on successful pilot. Accessible to all, EnSpire aims to improve local skills and community relations, provide vocational training for a wide range of disadvantaged people, and links to further education / employment opportunities.
